Long Membership and Large Contributions Do Not Guarantee Approval of a Mutual Aid Claim
KangAi Commune is not insurance, nor is it charitable donation in the ordinary sense; it has mutual aid rules and a member covenant, and the covenant is a contract among members, because all of KangAi Commune's mutual aid funds come from contributions.
Receiving mutual aid at KangAi Commune requires several conditions:
1. Fulfilling your obligations on time.
2. Meeting the requirements for joining the mutual aid commune — requirements differ from one commune to another.
3. The event that occurred falling within the mutual aid scope of the commune.
4. No fraud and no concealment in the application process.
And so on.
Not one of these can be missing. Remaining in the Commune and fulfilling obligations on time is only one of the conditions; if the others are not met, neither the length of time in the Commune nor the amount of money paid in can affect the aid application.
Members must therefore be sure to understand the requirements and aid standards of the commune they have joined.
Where the terms were agreed in advance, the Commune must be responsible to all the members taking part in cost-sharing. There is no basis for saying that the Commune deliberately creates obstacles or exploits long-standing members.
Members, please consider whether this makes sense.
