zhangmading.com is my personal writing site. It is free to read and needs no account. This page lists exactly what is recorded when you open a page, which cookies are used, and how to turn them off.
zhangmading.com is run by Zhang Mading as a personal record of online mutual aid, KangAi Commune and related social-protection topics, with an English section at /en/. For privacy questions, data requests or corrections, write to [email protected]. I reply within 30 days.
The list is deliberately short. Four sources:
I set no first-party cookies of my own. The cookies below come from the two Google services and from Cloudflare, and only appear on pages that load them:

Security logging runs on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the site online and free of abuse. Analytics and advertising cookies run on consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) where consent is required. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser at any time; the articles keep working.
Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland see non-personalised ads unless they consent to personalised ones. Third-party cookie names and lifetimes can change and I cannot read their contents; the current list is published at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

I do not sell personal information and never have. Serving personalised ads through Google may count as “sharing” under the CPRA; use the opt-out links above or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. To request access to, deletion of, or correction of anything I hold, email [email protected] — in practice that is usually a short-lived access log.
The site is written for adult readers and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has left data here, write to [email protected] and I will delete it.
Access logs: about 30 days. Google Analytics: 14 months, the retention setting on this property. Ad-related data: held by Google under its own schedules. Email you send me: kept only as long as needed to answer it.
The site is served over HTTPS. Articles link to KangAi Commune, news coverage and other third-party sites; once you follow an external link, that site's privacy policy applies instead of this one.
These are personal observations on mutual aid, social protection and commercial insurance. They are not insurance, underwriting or medical advice; for any product or contract, the official text from KangAi Commune or the relevant institution governs. Articles carry a publication date, and old pieces keep their original conclusions even when I would argue differently today.
When the way data is handled changes — a new analytics tool or ad format, for example — this page is revised and the effective date above is updated. Old versions are not kept online; save a copy if you want to compare.
