Frozen for Failing to Meet Obligations in Time: What Is the Real Reason for Enforcing This Discipline?

Zhang Mading1 min read

Enforcing strict discipline and safeguarding the Commune's fundraising capacity is one purpose of this rule, but not the main one. Where does the main purpose lie?

It lies in reducing speculation and ensuring fairness.

If people fail to meet their obligations in ordinary times and then fulfill them and reactivate when they fall ill, the foundation of the Commune's fairness is gone, it becomes a paradise for speculators, and the Commune cannot be sustained.

Although many members do not do this on purpose, objectively, without strict discipline — suppose you back-pay 15 days late — the Commune has effectively given you 15 days of protection for free, and the cost of that protection over those 15 days is shared by all members. When large numbers of people do this, the loss to each member on this account becomes enormous.
