Where Is the Funding Guarantee for KangAi Commune to Become a Century Commune?
Today a member asked how the Commune's operating funds are guaranteed. Here I will reply to everyone with my plan:
1. Increase revenue. We will not charge members, but we may earn fees through some value-added services. In the past we have tried group purchases of insurance, sign-up rewards, merchant raffles, and so on, which brought in some income; we will continue such attempts in the future without disturbing members.
2. Cut costs. KangAi Commune insists on low-cost operation, keeping operating expenses at a low level.
3. Plan ahead. The Commune will also establish a fund intended to sustainably provide operating funds, much like the Nobel Prize fund, generating a steady stream of money for the Commune through investment. Of course, the creation of this fund will never force members to contribute.
4. Seek external funding. We will try to raise funds from venture capital and other sources. In the past, One Foundation and Ceyuan Ventures, among others, funded us. Now more funders are willing to provide money. Obtaining funds will never come at the price of changing our established path.
5. Build a team with conviction. Every problem is ultimately a problem of people. With firm conviction we can overcome any difficulty—as Anti-Cancer Commune once did, going three years without external funding and over a year after funding ran out without changing its normal development path.
In short, I firmly believe: if our cause truly benefits society, we will never lack for funds. The goal of the Century Commune will never change. Members can rest assured.
