What Members Must Know: The True Concept of Insurance Is Understood by Only a Few

Zhang Mading1 min read

Someone asks: I have always been helping others in the Anti-Cancer Commune. Suppose I never fall ill, and at some age I leave the Commune or my rights shrink — have I not lost out?

You cannot think that way. The facts are as follows:

Suppose that in 2015 you helped others in the Anti-Cancer Commune with 200 yuan. By the end of the year you have indeed lost 200 yuan, but you have gained a possibility (or a right) — the possibility of being helped by others during that year. That possibility is worth 200 yuan.

Suppose you stay in the Anti-Cancer Commune for 20 years and help others with 6,000 yuan. Then that 6,000 yuan is the price you paid for the right to receive aid during those 20 years.

So purely economically speaking, there is no such thing as a loss. It only depends on whether you think this right is worth the price, and then you decide whether to join or leave the Commune.

The Commune can indeed provide lifetime protection and more coverage, but that will raise the amount you spend each year — that is, it will raise the price of obtaining this right. You get what you pay for.

Every right has a price, and every price can be calculated.

I hope all members can understand this principle. This is the correct concept. We have been misled too much — to the point of thinking that something is worthwhile only if we get the principal back plus returns. That is wrong.
