Why the Anti-Cancer Commune's Aid Target Is 300,000 Yuan Rather Than 500,000 or 1 Million

This figure is by no means better the higher it is. The reasons are as follows:

1. The help the Anti-Cancer Commune provides to the unfortunate comes from the contributions of other members. The more money provided to the unfortunate, the heavier the burden on other members. That is, providing 500,000, 1 million or 2 million is not a problem — it depends only on whether everyone in the community can afford it. Based on our research and statistics, 300,000 yuan is an amount the vast majority can afford without affecting their quality of life; it is appropriate. Any higher might burden you. This figure may not be felt in the early stages of operation, because members are generally young, but as members age and illness rates rise, the aid amount will become very apparent.

2. Every Chinese person basically has some social security and health insurance that can cover certain medical costs. 300,000 yuan plays a supplementary role, which is also appropriate.

3. Joining the Anti-Cancer Commune requires no medical examination. Based on experience in related industries, 300,000 yuan is the threshold for no-examination coverage; any higher would require a medical examination. If there were no examination at that point, it would expose other members to a greater risk and harm fairness.

4. Any higher would increase the possibility of bad actors fraudulently obtaining aid, exposing all members to a greater risk of being cheated.

5. The more money raised for any single individual, the greater the operational and moral risk.

Taking all these considerations together, we believe that 300,000 yuan is a reasonable arrangement. We have put real effort into the research; this figure was not set carelessly so as to be unsustainable. We hope everyone can understand. Keep striving for a Century Commune!
