After Lowering Minors' Obligations, Adults' Contributions Will Indeed Rise

Zhang Mading1 min read

Starting in October 2018, in societies such as the KangAi Critical-Illness Mutual Aid Society and the Anti-Cancer Mutual Aid Society, minors' contributions were reduced from one-half of an adult's to one-third (see the announcement at the time). For minors, contributions went down; correspondingly, adults' contributions went up.

Viewed statically and in the simplest terms, it is as if minors' contributions fell by one-sixth and adults must absorb that one-sixth through higher contributions.

This is still fair, because the incidence of critical illness among minors is much lower than among adults, and we may continue to lower minors' contribution ratio in the future.

We ask members to understand.
